By "spreader end," do you mean the bracket attached to the mast that receives the end of the spreader? If so, I have my old aluminum spreader brackets, and you're welcome to them ... BUT, you'd be much safer replacing them with the stainless steel bracket upgrade.
Please clarify the part you need, and maybe someone will be able to help out.
As Buzz mentioned - Are you talking about the spreader bracket that the spreaders go into or the small plastic insert that is grooved and located outboard of of the mast that the shroud runs through.
You should be able to get both at Catalina Direct.
Thanks alot guys. I was refering to the shroud end. And we are getting one from Cat Direct, it seemed at first they didn't have any in stock and I was scared, but it'll be ok now.
There are a number of places that carry them. The manufacturer is Edson. Boat US has them as does Pyacht.com. I didn't have a chance to do a froogle.com search on them, but there are probab ly others.
I just ordered a new set, but could have easily gotten a number of years out of the old ones. On Tsunami (an Evelyn 32 that I race) we have them on both the upper and lower spreaders and pad them with a sponge, or cloth too. I guess when your sails are 3 grand plus a pop you take every precaution.
The stitching is a herringbone, which will hold for an entire season and then some.
