RECOMENDED BY AMLOST EVERY SAILING MAGAZINE! we have used many cleaner/polishing products over the 6 years we have had our boat. but we have never had the results that we have had using the collinite system. the boat cleaner, $7.99 is worth its weight in gold. it takes everything off the boat. we used to use the 3m cleaner/polish. much more elbow grease. this stuff wipes on and wipes off. we used the collinite polish on the hull. same thing, wipe on wipe off. we used collinite paste wax on the topsides. i wish you could see the difference this stuff makes. we are in boston, and this weekend was rain, rain, rain. the entire boat was beaded up. what a beauiful sight. it is whiter now than it has EVER been. you have to try this stuff. i even tried it on the bathroom window that was all cloudy, it isn't cloudy any more..
So, how long have you worked for Collinite? Just kidding.
I used Poliglow on my '82 C25 and am torn between using it on my newer boat or using Collinite. The Poliglow worked well and made the old hull look much better but I wasn't that thrilled with the results on the topsides.
I assume you used their 920 Fiberglass Boat Cleaner but could you clarify which product number you used that you are calling polish and used on the hull? They have 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax and 870 Liquid Fleetwax, in addition to the 885 Paste Fleetwax which I'm guessing is what you used on the topsides, correct?
I have used their cleaner and paste wax for several years. There stuff is the best of any I ever tried. I had less luck with their metal polish. It was good but nothing exceptional.
A neighbor was applying Collinite on a sunny/breezy day and left to answer a long phonecall. Last I saw him he was trying to scrape off the hardened stuff with a putty knife before starting over. His "advice-to-self" was apply in small sections, set up a tarp!
steve, we used the 920 fiberglas boat cleaner first. then we used the 870 liquid fleetwax on the hull, and the 885 paste wax on the topsides. it does say to do a small section at a time and NOT to let it dry. it really was easy to use and the result was great.
