new c25 sailor rigging for the first time. can anyone post a picture i can see clearly of a backstay control system? on a search i saw a picture on brooke willsons boat that matches my sheaves, but cant quite make out the rest. thank you
brooke, do you have a photo you could post of the block used and attachments to the stern. looks like i could use a smaller version of boom vang blocks and line. if i had time id like to dupe your traveler. im done racing so it looks like a nice way to steer. thanks, dave
If I ever need to replace my adjuster blocks I will try to use ones that have springloaded shackles to keep them erect. There are lots of tiny scars on my transom ledge. When the tension is released, the v jamb block, especially, flops against the transom. For now, I just try to remember not to let it fly. A preventer knot doesn't seem to be the answer, could get jammed.

On my boat, I reconfigured the backstay adjuster. Instead of the adjuster going from tang to tang via the ring as illustrated in the parts manual, I moved it so that one end attaches to the starboard side backstay tang with the jamb cleat attached to the adjuster ring. (It sort of looks like a vang on the backstay).
Although I changed it since this picture was taken, this is somewhat how it looks.
Additionally, I hooked a bungee cord from the unused pigtail to the adjuster ring. This keeps the pigtail out of the way and when I release the adjuster, it acts like a power return.
