I want to put an access hatch under the dinette to ensure I have no water standing (I'm still chasing leaks). No factory access was provided. If someone can provide measurements and pics I would greatly appreciate it. I don't want to cut through any tabbing or stringers when I install the new hatch. Thanks, Sid
This said while not having a dinette model... does the dinette table sit on a 'pedestal'? If so, you can pull the table out and pump the bilge through the base.
We installed an inspection plate in that area a while back. We put it dead center and had not problems whatsoever. The glass is about a ¼ to 3/8ths thick – give or take. I don’t believe that we had any stringers In the way. We used a rotozip to cut the hole and all went well. You shouldn’t have any problems there
4 or 5 inch diameter. The boat sat in a bone yard for about 10 years without hatch covers on the companionway. Over time so many leaves and muck got in there the limber holse were clogged. The only way we had to clean them along with looking/removing water from the rubrail leaks and bad caulk job was to install inspection plates. Currently there are 5. One next to the head, installed so we could bolt and not screw it into place. One at the low spot in the head and two in the ailse in the main cabin. We hardly ever open them anymore since we are now dry, but the it is nice to have that acess.
MY 77 HULL NR 77 HAS TWO INSPECITON HATCHES IN THE SOLE. MY TABLE IS ON A PEDISTAL. THE OPENINGS ARE ABOUT 4 X 7. IF YOU WANT SEND ME EMAIL ADDRESS AND WILL SEND PICS. JOHH ON MS ACHSA
