I have just recently pruchased a 85 sk TR. I have been around sailing all my life but, still consider my self a beginner( Sailboat owner)and would really like some assistance and pointers with my boat. IF there is anyone who is in the Rhode Island area that would like to go crusing at some point i would be most interested.
Welcome to the group!! I'd also suggest that there is a lot to be learned by reading the current and the archive postings. I see that you have a swinger. So do I, I've owned mine for 25 trouble free years. But there are some issues that this forum has opened my eyes to. Particullarly if you are keeping the boat in salt water.
If you want to take a weekend off and come up to Maine, I'd be happy to take you out.
Yes i do have a swinger, i have been going through all the old post that i could find. Right before i put the boat in the water I had read some of the info here at this site. One of the articles was one refinishing the swing keel. I did just that brought it down to metal and epoxied her. Next year i will replace the cable and pivot bolts. But right now im just looking for some help with setup and trimming. I think there have been some modifications to the boat and i cant seem to find any pictures of what im looking for, but thank you for your reply! Good sailing
