I bought a reel of double sided hook and loop tape from Harbor Freight for under $7.00, I use it everywhere.

A dozen pieces secure the shrouds, furler, halyards to the mast when trailering (reusalble unlike tie wraps)

A 6" piece secures the shrouds to the lifelines while preparing to raise the mast (prevents the turnbuckle straps getting bent)

A 6" piece wraps around the pelican hooks of the baby stays to prevent unexpected opening durin mast raising and lowering.

Foot of it secures the backstay to the mast crutch during trailering.

Foot of it secures the poptop tube snuggly against the steps under the bridge deck when stowed.

Two lengths secure our TV against the head bulkhead to prevent tv moving at sea/during trailering.

Length of it secures the surplus power cable from the solar panel(need the surplus to facliate lowering the panel to the traileriing position)

Three pieces secure the anchor to the pulpit and prevent the anchor rubbing against the stainless.

Foot long strip secures the loose ends of the tiedown straps when trailering.

and the list goes on!

So I bought a 2nd reel!

Paul, you are to velcro as Arlyn is to bungee.

We use velcro to hold the tops of each of the baby stays in place during mast raising. When the mast goes up the shrouds tighten, spread and pull apart the velcro which then falls to the deck.

We use velcro to hold the turnbuckles upright during mast raising.

Two velcro strips hold the furled genny.

Velcro and bungee are great on the boat and home.
I use the double sided velcro to secure the swim ladder, it holds it well enough but I can get it to open from the water in an emergency, like finding myself outside the boat.

New use for bungee is to raise the split backstay rollers. I always had to physically push the rollers back up when I needed to ease the backstay now a bungee from the top of the yoke to the rollers pulls it up, eases it, when the line is released.
