While at work, cut the stock from a 5-gallon bucket:

It actually worked better to bend the stock opposite the original bucket bend. Clamping and then some heat gun:
It works nicely, easily slides up or down the furled genoa. However, if I didn't already have the snap shackle and other spare parts, I think I would just buy an ATN. Sailrite has them for about 100.00.
I had to come up with a new way to run the tack line though. The old block I used to use on the front of the stem would have the tack line chafing on the furling drum. I ran the line through a block that was tied to the bow cleats. This worked, but it is impossible to gybe.
So, anyone with a tacker have a better solution?
