quote:
I think I have you guys beat, here on the South Shore of LI, NY I pay $1850 / year. That is from April 1 to November 1. This does include storage and taking the boat out and in.

Beat how Val....better price or more expensive??? 2200 dockage, 400 storage...April (may 14th this year) to November 1
In Oly, WA (south Puget Sound) I pay $1134 from April 1st to Nov 1st. Power at $.06 per Kw, water, restrooms, laundry, showers, security, friendly neighbors. It's a short walk to the Farmer's Market (second largest in Washington, I'm told ) and nice restaurants. That doesn't include sling fees ($94.50 each way). Oh, and I've got my brother talked into paying $700 of it, so I guess I'm paying $434 .

We have a small Tiki bar/ restaurant also at the facility.
It is worth every penny I pay for the enjoyment and friendships I have encountered.

wow, 6 cents a kilowat. . .anything per gallon on the liquids? Around here, utilities are included, probably because they can milk you for more than your using. The per gallon/per killowatt reminds me of the BVI's or Bahamas.
Frank, Where on the South Shore of Long Island are you located? It sounds like you have a pretty good deal. I also keep my boat on the South Shore of L.I. Iam paying a lot more 1850.00 per year and no Tiki Bar! Please let me in on this deal. Thanks Ted
Ted-Frank, Sounds like you're way ahead of me I'm on the Patchogue River , I spend $1450 for a slip with one side to the dock and an additional $800 for winter storage. The Yard is a 1898 antique and the accomodations are also. But it's just three miles from home. So where are ya. Val on :CALISTA" #3936 '83 Wing/Tall Patchogue,N.Y.
Our winter storage ($1000) is about double our May-Nov. slip fees in our town's residents-only boat club by Long Neck Point on Long Island Sound. Water (when not restricted by drought) on the dock, no electricity, and no finger docks. Three other C-25s in the club, unfortunately none of which are involved in this club.

No charge for the water, just spigots spaced conveniently down the dock. I've never used the laundry or showers, but I think they are the coin operated variety. The other popular choice for marinas in town charges a flat rate of $20 per month for electricity on top of the $150 for a slip. I didn't feel like supplementing the juice gulpers (I use about $1-4 of electricity per month), so I went with the marina that meters the juice.
Val, Iam in West Sayville, Greens Creek. The Marina we are in seems pretty new, showers, small store and seems pretty secure. It seems kind of expensive though. Iam paying 2500.00 for the year and that includes winter storage. I live about 35 minutes away. Iam on the south shore of Nassau County.
Lake Pleasant, Arizona: Try $360 a month, every month, including electric, water, dock box, and second dock finger. Its a resovoir lake with a single marina concessionaire...ain't a monopoly grand?
Well guys, down here in Louisana on the Calcasieu River (& Lake Charles ship channel) about 15 miles north of the ICW, I pay $60.00 per month. Crummy wooden docks, lots of grass and Oak trees, small store open once in a while, 15A service & water. I am aghast at the rates I see ya'll paying! I mean... holy smokes! ...of course, the water does glow in the dark down here.
GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS, MARINA LANDING RESORT $130 PER MONTH WITH SHOWERS, TWO SWIMMING POOLS, TENNIS COURT, FISHING DOCK, WATER AND 30 AMP SHOREPOWER. CLUB HOUSE IS AVAILABLE FOR $50 PER NITE FOR PARTIES. MARINA WAS JUST REDREGED LAST WINTER AND THEY KEEP IT IN GOOD SHAPE. JUST OFF OF OFFATTS BAYOU AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES FROM THE ICW. the Jellyfish is docked on a canal behind our house which leads out into the Intercoastal Waterway. which of course leads into the Gulf of Mexico around here. thank God we live on the island cause if it costs anything to dock the boat I couldnt afford it. Pump out at local marina $10, overnite slips .50-$1 a ft. showers at the National and State parks spread out about every 15-20 miles free!
Maybe it wasn't so bad I stayed in the Navy 20 years. Pay $150 per month for full services year around at Naval facility. Great store and facilities. Yacht club is $25 per year.
Southern Harbor Marina on West Point Lake (GA/AL border) charges $95 a month with no annual contract. There is water & electricity to each slip, restrooms and showers available, and very nice, easy going folks operating the marina and restaurant.
Back home in Texas I sail on Lake Amistad, and keep my boat at the Air Force Marina. $45 a month, no contract, power & water. Floating docks are vinyl-clad styrofoam, and VERY forgiving if you prang into them.
I think I'm jealous. I pay about $1850 plus 6% CT sales tax. The facilities are very nice - Crocker's Boat yard in New London - new floating docks, electric, water, nice shower and bathroom facilities and a store that is not too outrageous. I could join the local yacht club for $500 a year with moorings and a launch but I'm away on business for weeks at a time and I like the idea that someone is looking after my boat.
My fees are low, about 25 bucks a weekend, but there's a catch. We hook the trailer to the back of the truck, drive 45 minutes to the Hudson river, pay launch fees and weekend slip combined at the marina( 25 bucks or 1/4 boat unit). Then we have about 2 days of marginal sailing on a narrow river with tidal currents and always wrong-way winds.Sunday afternoon, we pull 'er out, lower the mast and go home. SUCKS but we are SAILING!!!!!!!
Dock fees... Hmmm what are they? Only time I pay them is when I cruise. Nice to have a father with an extra slip sitting next to his Cape Doray 25d. Anyway your doing well, I have friends paying much much more..
