Joseph, going back to my idea of a pair of backstays: Out of the way, shared low load to each outside edge of the catbird seats, easy pelican shackle connections, the masthead is more than wide enough for two, out of the way for bimini, no need for hole in bimini to accomodate the wires, clear of the wheel, and easy to setup tensioner for tuning.
Thanks, Paul, and all. Now all I have to do is decide on the setup to use. Unfortunately I will have to put mods away while I "heal" from a very nasty fall down a high flight of stairs (15 steps) onto a hard landing. Lucky in that I only broke ribs and ego. As they say, I will mull this over and make modifications as soon as I can. Bummer, azaleas are blooming, lake is up, wind and weather are good...
I seen on those ocean raceing boats they add a extention off the top of the mast ,like 3' off the back to have a bigger roach on the main . that might work ?
