I've just hauled the boat for a little winter maintenance and upgrades. On the list are replacement bulbs for the anchor and steaming light. Catalina direct has neither listed for a '99 250.

Second, first look at the anchor light tells me there's the right and wrong way to access the bulb. It is not apparent how to get to the bulb.

I'd appreciate some help here.

Thanks.

I replaced my anchor light assembly recently, yours is probably the Aqua Signal 25 series. The bulb is accessable by twisting the lens cover to remove. The bulb is a festoon style bulb available at West Marine and Defender for Aqua Signal 25 series lights.

If you anchor at night often you might want to consider an LED replacement to conserve battery power.

The steaming light bulb is easily accessable with a small Phillips screwdriver, you'll need to remove the deck light halogen bulb first, don't handle that bulb with bare fingers as it may damage the bulb. The steaming light uses the same style bulb as the anchor light.

Thanks Steve. Guess I didn't use enough muscle in an attempt to unscrew the lenses. I appreciate the other information, too. Thanks again.

Bob:
Take a look at http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21630
and there's discounts available for LED bulbs that fit in your Aqua signal fixture. Be prepared for $20 prices!!!!!

I discovered why anchor lenses didn't come off easily: The tabs holding it onto the base had been broken by the previous owner and it was secured with several wraps of electrical tape. Don't you just love someones half ass solutions to something needing replacement?!
