The cleanup has been scaled back in this area. There are still some small tar balls and warning signs, but early morning sand sifters, regular patrols and random drilling of test holes to check for buried tar/oil is all you see unless they discover a problem. My problem was the really foul smelling, oxygen depleted, soupy but sticky gray muck every place I anchored, even 50 yards off a beautiful white sand beach on the bay side.
