How about a skills event that requires boats to accomplish sailing tasks i.e. sail backwards past a committee boat, set multiple anchors, hook a mooring... We also have a favorite activity at NSA that involves surgical tubing and lots of water balloons. Nationals should be worth the trip for who ever goes.
