please make nominations for officer

(1) in the forum
(2) in an email to a current officer

you CAN nominate yourself

We DO need a Quartermaster (Ships Store) and if someone wanted to take over as web master Spike would probably step down.

If someone wants to take over the TellTale I'll step down.

I'm willing to continue as your Vice-Commodore if someone nominates me. Otherwise, anyone else can take a turn if they want.

To all who would be webmaster...
There is a board conference call tonight. Please provide some info on your familiarity with managing a site and any familiarity with Snitz.
A quickie resume would be nice.

While not necessary, it is my pleasure to endorse the nominations JB made (I guess that says I will accept a second term as your commodore, if you so desire) and nominate JB Manley as Treasurer (so he doesn't have to it himself).

Kris Underwood, Captain of Fleet #43 has graciously allowed me to nominate him for Commodore.
Fleet #43 has a long standing history with the National Association and is quite active in both racing and cruising.
I heartily endorse Kris Underwood for Commodore.

I'm not nominating anyone, and I'm not savvy enough for webmastering, but I am greatful to all ya'll who do volunteer for this wonderful organization and website.

Thank you for the time that past, current and future officers spend on making us successful. I know it is a great sacrifice; one that is greatly appreciated.

I too would like to thank the folks who have volunteered their time over the years. I have always been interested in lending a hand and being an officer, but time has never allowed me to. Now I have plenty of free time and would love to be a part of it.

Thanks again to all who serve the association.

Kris, I don't think many people know that Coach is Kris Underwood. You have always been a very valuable member and would be a fine officer. I do think it best to serve on the board in some capacity other than Commodore before becoming Commodore. With your permission I nominate you to serve as Secretary in the 05-06 term.

VICE COMMODORE: Shall, in the absence of the Commodore, preside and perform the duties of the Commodore and such other duties as specified by the Commodore. The Vice Commodore shall serve as Chairman of the National Championship Regatta and appoint the Race Committee. The term of office shall be for one (1) year.

I have said on this forum before that I believe the VC position should be held by the host of the Nationals of that year. They are putting on the regatta and should have the authorities granted by the position. However! Duane is so valuable as Measurer that we need him there. As a second best option I am nominating myself to be VC based on my experience as past Nationals Host and as past Secretary. I hereby reufse my nomination as Secretary for 05-06.

Frank, you make a very valid point and very understandable. I would have no problem with doing that at all. Whatever is best for the association works for me. I would be very happy to represent our association as secretary.

That is great Kris, thanks for accepting the nomination as association Secretary. Does that mean you are officially withdrawing from Commodore? I think it needs to be said if that is the case.

I believe in multiple candidates for as many offices as possible. I also appreciate how hard Jim Baumgart has worked for us as VC. He fulfilled the role of Commodore often when Don was unavailable. I hereby nominate Jim for Commodore

I agree with Frank about multiple candidates, if for no other reason, that it will get more members interested in the elections and voting.
Is there any chance of getting a “sticky” on this thread till the nomination period is over?

Thanks Frank for clarifying the nominations.

I am glad to see that Kris is running for office and think he will be a great addition to the Officers no matter which position he is elected to.
I only asked because the list did not seem to correspond to the nominations above. It does now that the list has been amended.

Thanks

(Edited after J.B. amended the nominations list.)

With elections coming up is there a member of your fleet that would serve on the National level?
It is about time that the 25/250 owners are represented by sailors that understand and are receptive to our vast majority (900 strong) of sailors who race and sail locally.
You can nominate yourself or nominate a fleet member by posting on this “nominations” thread.
Or by e-mailing any of the officers listed on the web’s Officers and Staff page
